A Bar A Ranch Youth Camp Expeditions are designed for small groups of middle and high school age boys and girls, to create immersive experiences across the Western landscapes of A Bar A, Big Creek, and State Line Ranches, and the surrounding National Forests and Wilderness. The camp experience is centered around building interpersonal skills and strengthening skillsets in traditional Western activities like fly-fishing, horseback riding, shooting sports, camping, hiking, and backpacking.
Each camp is small with up to 6 campers per trip to allow greater opportunities to build a strong group dynamic and quality guide to camper ratios. Youth Camp Expeditions are 7 nights.
The Boys’ Expeditions Camp program bases from A Bar A Ranch at a fully featured basecamp called Mullen Camp–just two miles upstream from A Bar A headquarters along the banks of Mullen Creek. The boys’ camp experience is focused on fly-fishing, camping, and wilderness skills with a day spent with horses to include an orientation on horsemanship and trail riding.
The Girls’ Riding Camp program bases from a classic ranch house on Big Creek Ranch–sister ranch and cattle operation headquarters adjacent to A Bar A Ranch. The girls’ camp experience is focused on Western horsemanship and trail riding with a night of camping and a day fishing included in the week.
Please visit our Boys’ Camp webpage or our Girls’ Camp webpage for more information on each camp experience. We ask all campers to complete a Youth Camp Application prior to enrollment. If you have questions prior to completing the application, please contact the Expeditions team.
