Boys’ Expedition Camps are specially designed for groups of 4-6 middle and high school boys who are interested in fly fishing, camping, hiking and exploring southern Wyoming, while building leadership skills, friendships, independence, and confidence. Please fill out a Youth Camp Application to begin the enrollment process.
Each camp is 5 days and based at A Bar A Ranch along a tributary of the North Platte River called Mullen Creek. This location allows for instant access to trout streams and numerous backcountry trails. Camp leaders introduce fly fishing techniques, small caliber riflery and firearm safety, navigation skills for backcountry travel, and the basics of camping and living in the outdoors.
Expedition Guides work together during each Youth Camp to ensure safety, guidance, and support, in a fun outdoor learning environment.
Trout Unlimited and The Wyoming Game and Fish Department co-sponsor a conservation based community service project for each camp. A certificate with community service hours is awarded to each camper. Projects include: stream restoration, habitat enhancement, and trail and river access trails in the upper North Platte River watershed.
