Extreme comfort in a wilderness setting. Your group of 2 – 6 guests will stay in private cabins in some of the most beautiful scenery Wyoming has to offer. Let Expedition Guides take care of everything. They’ll be your wranglers, fishing guides, hiking companions, and gourmet cooks. One of the best parts about an Expedition is that you can choose to stay in multiple locations during your trip, and ride horseback or vehicle from one to another.
Burta’s Cabin:
Our first Expedition Cabin, located on the banks of Big Creek. Arrive by horseback, on foot, or in a vehicle! The beautifully constructed 2BR and 2BA, solar powered log cabin is perfect for small families, couples, and close friends.
Let the Expedition Guides cook and prepare delicious meals set for fine dining. Meals include hearty choice cut steaks, local lamb, refreshing salads, your own trout from Big Creek, and open-fire BBQs.
Incredible trout water is steps away in Big Creek! With its undercut banks, long runs, pools and riffles, Big Creek is great for all levels of fly fishermen. Wild browns, rainbows, and brook trout are abundant in every hole. Big Creek is estimated to have over 800 trout per mile.
Burta’s is also the perfect location for riding-oriented trips. After a long day on the trail, your horses stay nearby—ready for another adventure. Most guests find that their horses are as much a part of their trip as the people in the group! The guides always encourage you to help with the feeding and saddling of your horse. The best part—you can mount and ride away, right from the cabin!
Radiana:
A classic ranch house at the headquarters of our cattle operation, known as Big Creek Ranch. Radiana is a great location for families or friends looking for an authentic experience on a Wyoming cattle ranch. The 3BR and 3BA fully equipped house features an iconic view of open meadows and is a short distance from fly fishing , upland bird hunts, sporting clays, and western riding opportunities.
Nestled in a broad mountain valley, Big Creek Ranch, is one of the oldest and most well-known western cattle Ranches . More than 6,000 head of cattle graze in rich meadows and on sage-covered hills. At the turn of the century, Big Creek Ranch produced 25% of the hay in the entire state of Wyoming. Still one of the largest ranches, Big Creek raises top quality Angus . Explore historic homesteads and cattle operations on your Expedition this summer and join in on a cattle drive!
