Teen Camp Expeditions focus on fishing, camping, and hiking while building leadership skills, independence, and confidence.
Be prepared to camp under the stars, learn local entomology, perfect your essential fishing knots, hike to back-country streams, and learn the art of cooking over a campfire.
Camps are offered to middle school and high school students who are interested in 5 day Expeditions exploring the legendary Gates Family Ranches of A Bar A, Big Creek, and State Line. These fun and educational trips are perfect for any teen interested in honing fly fishing, camping, hiking, and outdoor leadership skills.
Our groups are small (4-6 campers) for a reason; to give opportunities to each teen to develop relationships with each other, the guides, and the southern Wyoming environment.
The Expedition Guides are highly trained and work together during each Teen Camp to ensure safety, guidance, and support, in a fun outdoor learning environment.
For each Teen Camp, A Bar A and Trout Unlimited have partnered together for a co-sponsored community service project. A certificate with transferable community service hours will be awarded to each teen after completion of the project. Projects may include: river cleanups, willow and stream restoration projects, and clearing river access trails in the upper North Platte River watershed.
“(We are grateful that) our boys (children) have had the opportunity to experience the great outdoors, unplugged from the world; fresh air, beautiful scenery, world class fishing, and a new found respect for nature and all it encompasses. Their only regret is that camp wasn’t longer!” (Elizabeth)
